16 New Journals Added to PsycINFO

During the month of February, 16 new journals were added to PsycINFO's coverage list.
These include:
Current Alzheimer Research
Decision Analysis
Internet Journal of Mental Health
Language Sciences
Psychologica

PsycINFO is now on EBSCO!

GMU Libraries now subscribes to PsycINFO, PsycArticles and PsycExtra on the EBSCO vendor interface. Researchers may have noticed this change as of August 1, 2005, when the VIVA Consortium EBSCO contract went into effect for George Mason Univ. and other Virginia schools.
The EBSCO interface includes many useful features such as linked references, tabbed toolbars, personalized folders and e-alerts. If you have any questions about EBSCO searching, please feel free to contact your Psychology Liaison Librarian, Barbara Hillson, at 993-3715, or via e-mail at bhillson@gmu.edu.

Update to the E-Journal Locator !

A new linking feature has just been added to GMU Libraries' E-Journal Locator. Once you have input your journal title, and get your results list, you can now click on the phrase
Search Catalog for Print Copies.
This link will immediately take the user to our online Library Catalog, to match any print or microformat holdings for that journal in GMU Libraries. This additional format linking will provide another option when we do not hold an electronic version of a journal.

Download the new Libraries@Mason Toolbar
Discover a useful new tool for quick desktop access to GMU Libraries resources.
The Libraries@Mason toolbar can be downloaded from the Libraries' Homepage
http://library.gmu.edu
Select the sixth category heading "Help with Research", and you will find directions for downloading the toolbar for use with Internet Explorer, Windows, Firefox and other browsers. This provides handy access to Catalogs, Databases, and other Library services.

PsycINFO Database Change
Beginning July 5, 2005, PsycINFO searchers will notice a change to the OVID Web Gateway. Many new features have been added, including such enhancements as:
Find Similar
Find Citation
Find Citing Articles

Also coming soon is an online tutorial that will guide users through the new search interface.
